Archbishop's Diocesan Appeal Letter

Christ is with us!

Each year I come to you, as your spiritual father, to ask your financial support for our Melkite Greek Catholic Church in America, and alwasy you respond with generosity. You are always in my prayers and my heart !

Once again, I come to you with hand outstreched to ask for your support for the important works of our Church. You have come to know the tremendous benefits your annnual gift is able to produce. Your faithful commitment to the Archbishop's Appeal enables our children and young adults, who are the future of our Church, to learn and cherish their Melkite fatih and traditions. Your gift makes it possible for our candidates for the Diaconate and Priesthood to continue their studies so that we may have clergy to serve our people and to replace our faithful priests and deacons who face the challenges of age and failing health. It is only because of your generosity that we are able to produce, print and mail SOPHIA magazine, bringing to the homes of all our faithful informative and enlightening articles about our Melkite faith and news from our parishes around the country. And, when there are needs in our struggling missions, your yearly gift provides for them, and also helps to support our elderly priests in their golden years.

And so, I ask you once again, to be as generous as you are able in responding to the Archbishop's Appeal. I am very much aware of the challenges of these economic times: yet, I know I can count on you to make the financial support of your Melkite Church a high priority even in these times. But, though I count on you, I want you to know that I never take you for granted. Your sacrifice to God, made with a loving heart for the good of His Church, is truly a fragrant offering most pleasing in His sight !
