Warren, Michigan - Our Lady of Redemption Melkite Church

Our Lady of Redemption Parish in Warren, Michigan has long had the vision. After seventeen years in a temporary church and five years of detailed planning, their vision is becoming a reality. In August of 2000 they will finish building their new home.

To build a church is a once in a lifetime opportunity to create a lasting monument to the praise and glory of God. We Melkites are one family in this country and helping each other is an added blessing for each of us. From across the miles gifts have come for the new church and many have asked to share their blessings with us and be remembered in our prayers.

The community of Our Lady of Redemption is asking that all of the faithful assist in this vision, assist in building the future of the Melkite Catholic Church.

The new church is being built with large white stones, reminiscent of the churches of the Middle Eastern the roots or our church. Your help will be greatly appreciated and your name will be a blessing on one of the stones of this new church edifice. Labels will be attached to the interior stones with the names of the donors. These will be sealed in permanently when the walls are plastered this spring. At each liturgical service the community will remember the "founders and benefactors" of the church and we all will be especially prayed for and remembered.

The name of each donor will also be engraved in a Book of Remembrances and Memorials. This book will be available for all to view in the narthex of the church.

To assist in this project, the Church of Our Lady of Redemption asks for a $50.00 donation for each name to be placed on a stone. Of course, the church will gladly accept any donation as your financial situation allows and we will include your name on a stone and engrave it in the Remembrance Book.
