105th Anniversary

Honoring the Past and Celebrating the Future.”

As the second oldest parish in the diocese, the year presented us with some highs and lows.  A few of our beloved members passed away leaving us slightly smaller but with some very treasured memories of them.

His Beatitude Patriarch Gregory III visited our parish in May.  He met Bishops from the Scranton diocese along with clergy from various denominations.  A Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated followed by a grand banquet honoring the Patriarch and celebrating our 105th Anniversary, “Honoring the Past and Celebrating the Future.”

Our first food festival, held in August, was a big hit in the community.  Watch for it again!

Fr. Philip Azoon, our priest for seven years, retired and we welcomed Fr. Angelus as our Pastor and Deacon Michael Jolly, from St. Ann Melkite Church in New Jersey, as the parish Administrator.

If you plan a visit to the Pocono Mountains, be sure to include St. Joseph’s on your agenda – we’d love to meet you!  For further info, please contact Nancy Betress  or call the church (570) 343-6092.
